Wizards Finish Strong To Edge Out Timberwolves
The Washington Wizards defeated the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves, 115-107, at Capital One Arena on Wednesday evening.

The contest got out to a tight start and was tied at 24, after one quarter. It stayed tight through the second, but the Timberwolves opened up an eight-point lead late in the quarter, before the Wizards cut it back to a four-point game by halftime. The visitors held the edge for most of the third quarter, but the Wizards took over the momentum in the final minutes, to claim a three-point lead, heading into the final frame. The Timberwolves tied it up again early in the fourth, but the Wizards responded and did not trail at all in the quarter. They Wizards rallied to a game-high 10-point lead with 3:40 left, and they held on to secure the home win.

Montrezl Harrell led the way for the Wizards, with 27 points, five rebounds and three assists, in 21 minutes off the bench. Bradley Beal added 19 points, six rebounds, nine assists and a steal, while Daniel Gafford totaled 18 points, 10 rebounds, three blocks and a steal. The Wizards shot 49.5 percent from the field, including 10-of-32 from long range.

Karl-Anthony Towns led the Timberwolves with 34 points, 10 rebounds, a steal and a block, in 33 minutes. Anthony Edwards followed up with 25 points, three rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block, while D'Angelo Russell finished with 10 points, five rebounds, nine assists and two blocks. The Timberwolves shot 42 percent from the field, including 11-of-37 from deep.

The Timberwolves (11-11) will look to bounce back as they take on the Nets in Brooklyn on Friday. The Wizards (14-8) play host to the Cavs on Friday.
