Nets Come From Behind, Top Cavaliers
The Brooklyn Nets defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers, 117-112, at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse on Monday evening.

The Nets (13-5) and the Cavaliers (9-9) played a tight contest and while this might be defined as a back-and-forth contest, in the end, the Nets came through when it mattered the most to come away with the victory. The Cavaliers jumped out to a 27-24 lead in the first quarter and bolstered their advantage to a double-digit lead following a 36-28 score in the second quarter. However, Brooklyn responded in the third quarter and showed their will to fight thanks to a 32-19 score in the third quarter, jumping from an 11-point deficit to a two-point lead. Brooklyn didn't step the foot off the gas and won the final quarter as well, 33-30, racing out to a five-point victory while playing away from home.

Kevin Durant led the way for Brooklyn with 27 points while adding nine assists and six rebounds, while Patty Mills contributed 17 points. James Harden ended with 14 points and 14 assists while adding six rebounds and three steals, as he contributed on both sides of the ball. LaMarcus Aldridge had 21 points and 11 rebounds off the bench, and Cam Thomas had 11 points. Brooklyn shot 47.4 percent from the field.

Darius Garland led the Cavaliers with 24 points and 11 assists, while Jarrett Allen also had 20 points and 15 rebounds to produce a double-double. Lauri Markkanen had 22 points and eight rebounds, and Isaac Okoro ended with 15 points. Ricky Rubio had 16 points, seven rebounds and five assists off the bench as well. Cleveland shot 38.7 percent from the field and 31.8 percent from deep.

Hornets Best Wizards, 109-103
The Charlotte Hornets defeated the Washington Wizards, 109-103, at Capital One Arena on Monday night.

The Hornets (11-8) checked in just one game removed from a five-game winning streak, but an impressive first half that they emerged from with a 59-50 lead lent credence to the notion they'd be able to get back into the win column immediately. However, the Wizards (11-6), which had only lost one home game all season, made things interesting in the second half and were within two points with under a minute remaining before a Terry Rozier three-pointer and LaMelo Ball free throw helped seal the win.

Rozier led the way for the Hornets with 32 points, adding four assists, two rebounds and two steals. LaMelo Ball managed 28 points, 13 boards, seven assists, three steals and one block. Gordon Hayward supplied 16 points, five rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block.

Montrezl Harrell paced the Wizards with a 24-point, 18-rebound double-double. Bradley Beal delivered 18 points, nine assists, seven rebounds, one steal and one block. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope managed 17 points, three rebounds, one assist and four steals. Kyle Kuzma generated an 11-point, 13-rebound double-double that included five assists and one block.

The Hornets remain on the road and face the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night, while the Wizards hit the road and visit the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday night as well.

Hawks Dominate To Defeat Thunder
The Atlanta Hawks defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder, 113-101, at StateFarm Arena on Monday evening.

The Hawks (9-9) finally moved to the .500 threshold with another strong win, as they took care of the Thunder (6-11) with a strong victory thanks to a solid start and a strong game on both ends of the floor. Atlanta jumped out to a 32-27 lead in the first quarter, and they bolstered that lead following a 34-33 score in the second quarter. Holding a six-point lead with 24 minutes left on the game, Atlanta pulled away for good with a dominant effort in the third quarter thanks to a 27-11 score, and that was enough to get the job done. Oklahoma City won the final quarter by 10 points (30-20), but that was enough to prevent the Hawks to win the game by a double-digit margin. The Hawks shot 48.3 percent from the field and 41.2 percent from three-point range, while the Thunder shot 40.2 percent from the field and a meager 26.3 percent from three-point range.

Trae Young carried the Hawks with 30 points while adding six assists and four rebounds, while Clint Capela posted a double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds. John Collins posted 11 points, six rebounds and five assists, while both Bogdan Bogdanovic and Kevin Huerter each posted 13 points and five rebounds, though Huerter also contributed five assists. Danilo Gallinari recorded 11 points, six boards and three assists off the bench.

Laguentz Dort recorded 15 points and five rebounds to lead the Thunder, while James Robinson-Earl contributed 13 points and 10 rebounds. Josh Giddey came close to a triple-double 15 points, eight assists and seven rebounds. Derrick Favors had 10 points as well. Ty Jerome had 15 points off the bench, and Aleksej Pokusevski came close to a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds too.

Celtics Hand Rockets 15th Consecutive Loss
The Boston Celtics defeated the visiting Houston Rockets, 108-90, at TD Garden on Monday evening.

The contest got out to a tight start as the Celtics led, 22-21, after one quarter. The Celtics pushed their lead up to 10, late in the second, but the Rockets closed the half strong and cut it back to a five-point game by halftime. However, the Celtics came out much stronger in the third and outscored the visitors, 34-16, in the quarter, to take a 23-point lead into the final frame. The Rockets kept up the fight in the fourth but did not have enough to get back in the game, as the Celtics held on for their third straight win. This marks the 15th consecutive loss for the Rockets.

Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 30 points, six rebounds, three assists and a steal, in 34 minutes. Jaylen Brown followed up with 19 points, three rebounds and a steal, while Dennis Schroder added 18 points, on 6-of-15 shooting, off the bench. The Celtics shot 43 percent from the field, including 12-of-35 from long range.

Meanwhile, Armoni Brooks led the Rockets with 17 points, while shooting 5-of-8 from long range, in 25 minutes off the bench. Kenyon Martin Jr. was the only other player to score in double digits for the Rockets, with 10 points, to go with sic rebounds, a steal and a block, in 22 minutes off the bench. The Rockets shot 37 percent from the field, including 11-of-42 from deep.

The Rockets (1-16) will look to end the drought as they play host to the Bulls on Wednesday. The Celtics (10-8) play host to the Nets on Wednesday.

Timberwolves Top Pelicans For Third Straight Win
The Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the host New Orleans Pelicans, 110-96, at Smoothie King Center on Monday evening.

The contest got out to a tight start as the Pelicans led, 29-28, after one quarter. However, the Timberwolves took over in the second, where they outscored the hosts by 17, to take a 16-point lead into the half. The Pelicans could not make up any ground in the third and saw the deficit grow to 20, heading into the final frame. They kept up the fight in the fourth, but it was not enough, as they fell short for their second straight loss, while this marks the third straight win for the Timberwolves.

Karl-Anthony Towns led the Timberwolves with 28 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block, in 35 minutes. Anthony Edwards followed up with 18 points, seven rebounds, three steals and a block, while Jared Vanderbilt totaled 16 points, 11 rebounds and two steals. The Timberwolves shot 40 percent from the field, including 10-of-44 from deep.

Meanwhile, Willy Hernangomez led the Pelicans with 19 points, 11 rebounds and a steal, in 22 minutes off the bench. Nickeil Alexander-Walker followed up with 14 points, five rebounds and three assists, while Josh Hart and Jonas Valanciunas chipped in 13 points each. The Pelicans shot 42 percent from the field, including 6-of-32 from long range.

The Pelicans (3-16) will look to bounce back as they play host to the Wizards on Wednesday. The Timberwolves (8-9) play host to the Heat on Wednesday.

Pacers Blast Bulls, 103-77
The Indiana Pacers defeated the Chicago Bulls, 103-77, at United Center on Monday night.

The Pacers (8-11) came in as clear underdogs, but the first half completely belied that status. Indiana essentially needed just 24 minutes to put a shell-shocked Bulls (12-6) squad away, racking up 67 points over the first two quarters to take a 21-point lead into intermission. Indiana was much more subdued offensively in the second half, but by holding Chicago to 31 points in the final two periods, it could afford to take the foot off the gas. The visitors unsurprisingly held several clear advantages on the stat sheet, perhaps none more drastic than the 59-38 margin they won the battle of the boards by.

Domantas Sabonis led the Pacers with a 21-point, 11-rebound double-double that also included four assists and one steal. Malcolm Brogdon turned in 16 points, seven assists, four rebounds, two blocks and one steal. Justin Holiday furnished 14 points, four boards, two assists and one steal. Myles Turner generated a 12-point, 10-rebound double-double that included four blocks. Caris LeVert matched Turner's scoring total and provided two rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block.

DeMar DeRozan led the Bulls with 18 points, adding two assists and one rebound. Zach LaVine registered 17 points, three assists and two rebounds. Derrick Jones, Jr. compiled eight points, five boards and one steal. Lonzo Ball notably went scoreless over 25 minutes totaling only five rebounds, two assists and one block.

The Pacers return home to host the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night, while the Bulls hit the road and face the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night.

Bucks Trample Magic In Milwaukee
The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the visiting Orlando Magic, 123-92, at Fiserv Forum on Monday evening.

The Bucks jumped out to a great start with a, 36-16, lead after one quarter. They kept the pressure on in the second and pushed their lead to 41 points, by halftime. The Magic had no answer in the second half, as the Bucks added another eight points to their advantage through the third quarter to make it a 49-point game heading into the final quarter. The Magic put up a fight in the fourth, but it was nowhere near enough to cover the enormous deficit. This marks the fourth straight win for the Bucks, while it is the third consecutive loss for the Magic.

Jrue Holiday led the Bucks with 18 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals, in 23 minutes. Pat Connaughton followed up with 17 points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals, while Giannis Antetokounmpo totaled 12 points, eight rebounds, nine assists, two blocks and a steal. The Bucks shot 47 percent from the field, including 18-of-45 from long range.

Meanwhile, Moritz Wagner was the high-point man for the Magic with 18 points on 5-of-9 shooting, in 24 minutes off the bench. R.J. Hampton followed up with 14 points, eight rebounds, five assists and two steals, while Wendell Carter Jr. totaled eight points, 10 rebounds, three assists and a block. The Magic shot 37 percent from the field, including 11-of-41 from deep.

The Magic (4-14) will look to end the slide as they play host to the Hornets on Wednesday. The Bucks (10-8) play host to the Pistons on Wednesday.

Suns Defeat Spurs, 115-111
The Phoenix Suns defeated the host San Antonio Spurs, 115-111, at AT&T Center on Monday.

While there were four lead changes in the opening minutes, Phoenix held the lead for the final 40 minutes of their victory. That can be attributed to a 24-20 first quarter and 33-24 second quarter. San Antonio got it down to a three-point margin, thanks to 36-25 fourth quarter but they never took a shot to tie the game. The Suns shot 12-of-27 from three-point range and 13-of-16 from the free-throw line while the Spurs hit just 5-of-20 from long range and 8-of-16 from the charity stripe. Both teams shot 52 percent from the field.

The Suns (14-3) were led by Devin Booker and his 23 points, three rebounds and four assists. Deandre Ayton amassed 21 points, 14 rebounds and three assists. Chris Paul collected 12 points, two rebounds and four assists, while Cameron Payne led the bench with 20 points, three rebounds and three assists. JaVale McGee and Landry Shamet reached double figures in scoring off the bench as well.

The Spurs (4-12) were led by Derrick White, tallying 19 points, four rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks. Dejounte Murray accumulated 18 points, 10 rebounds, 11 assists and three steals. Jakob Poeltl totaled 15 points, nine rebounds and two assists, while Devin Vassell led the bench with 17 points, three rebounds and two steals.

Both teams return to action on Wednesday, with Phoenix staying on the road to face the Cleveland Cavaliers and San Antonio remaining home to play the Atlanta Hawks.

Grizzlies Defeat Jazz, 119-118
The Memphis Grizzlies defeated the host Utah Jazz, 119-118, at Vivint Arena on Monday.

This game was full of swings, taking 12 ties and 16 lead changes to determine a winner. Neither club led by more than 11 points though, with Memphis scoring the final seven points over the closing 70 seconds to prevail. That actually answered an 8-0 run by the Jazz in the two minutes prior, with Jaren Jackson Jr knocking down the game-winning three with 6.7 seconds remaining. Donovan Mitchell has a chance to win at the buzzer but missed a fadeaway jumper. The Grizzlies doubled up the Jazz in steals, 10-5, which allowed them to win the turnover battle, 14-7. In addition, Memphis outscored Utah in second-chance points, 22-12.

The Grizzlies (9-8) were led by Ja Morant and his 32 points, four rebounds, seven assists and two steals. Desmond Bane amassed 28 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals. JJJ hit the game-winner and finished with 26 points, eight rebounds, two steals and two blocks. Brandon Clarke led the bench with 10 points and nine rebounds.

The Jazz (11-6) were led by Bojan Bogdanovic, totaling 24 points, three rebounds and three assists. Rudy Gobert registered 23 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks. Mitchell shot 5-of-20 from the field to tally 18 points, six rebounds and eight assists. Mike Conley compiled 19 points, four rebounds and eight assists.

Both teams return to action on Wednesday, with Memphis returning home to play the Toronto Raptors and Utah traveling to face the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Sixers Defeat Kings, 102-94
The Philadelphia 76ers defeated the host Sacramento Kings, 102-94, at Golden 1 Center on Monday.

It took nine ties and 12 lead changes to determine a winner in this game, with neither team leading by more than 10 points. That was actually the Sixers in the final seconds, with the Kings taking their largest lead early in the fourth quarter. Philly outscored Sacramento 25-8 across the closing 8:25 to capture the comeback win and complete that turnaround. The Sixers recorded nine steals and five blocks, while the Kings had just four steals and no blocks. That led to Philly winning the turnover battle, 13-7

The Sixers (10-8) were led by Tyrese Maxey, tallying 24 points, four assists and two steals. Matisse Thybulle totaled 15 points, two rebounds and three steals. Andre Drummond collected nine points, 23 rebounds, three assists and three blocks. Shake Milton led the bench with 16 points and two rebounds.

The Kings (6-12) were led by De'Aaron Fox, amassing 23 points, five rebounds and two assists. Richaun Holmes registered 18 points and eight rebounds. Harrison Barnes had 10 points, five rebounds and three assists. Tyrese Haliburton went scoreless but still provided four rebounds and nine assists. Buddy Hield led the bench with 21 points, nine rebounds and two assists.

Both teams return to action on Wednesday, with Sacramento staying home to face the Portland Trail Blazers and Philly remaining on the road to play the Golden State Warriors.
