Celtics Hand Rockets 15th Consecutive Loss
The Boston Celtics defeated the visiting Houston Rockets, 108-90, at TD Garden on Monday evening.

The contest got out to a tight start as the Celtics led, 22-21, after one quarter. The Celtics pushed their lead up to 10, late in the second, but the Rockets closed the half strong and cut it back to a five-point game by halftime. However, the Celtics came out much stronger in the third and outscored the visitors, 34-16, in the quarter, to take a 23-point lead into the final frame. The Rockets kept up the fight in the fourth but did not have enough to get back in the game, as the Celtics held on for their third straight win. This marks the 15th consecutive loss for the Rockets.

Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 30 points, six rebounds, three assists and a steal, in 34 minutes. Jaylen Brown followed up with 19 points, three rebounds and a steal, while Dennis Schroder added 18 points, on 6-of-15 shooting, off the bench. The Celtics shot 43 percent from the field, including 12-of-35 from long range.

Meanwhile, Armoni Brooks led the Rockets with 17 points, while shooting 5-of-8 from long range, in 25 minutes off the bench. Kenyon Martin Jr. was the only other player to score in double digits for the Rockets, with 10 points, to go with sic rebounds, a steal and a block, in 22 minutes off the bench. The Rockets shot 37 percent from the field, including 11-of-42 from deep.

The Rockets (1-16) will look to end the drought as they play host to the Bulls on Wednesday. The Celtics (10-8) play host to the Nets on Wednesday.
