Hornets Best Wizards, 109-103
The Charlotte Hornets defeated the Washington Wizards, 109-103, at Capital One Arena on Monday night.

The Hornets (11-8) checked in just one game removed from a five-game winning streak, but an impressive first half that they emerged from with a 59-50 lead lent credence to the notion they'd be able to get back into the win column immediately. However, the Wizards (11-6), which had only lost one home game all season, made things interesting in the second half and were within two points with under a minute remaining before a Terry Rozier three-pointer and LaMelo Ball free throw helped seal the win.

Rozier led the way for the Hornets with 32 points, adding four assists, two rebounds and two steals. LaMelo Ball managed 28 points, 13 boards, seven assists, three steals and one block. Gordon Hayward supplied 16 points, five rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block.

Montrezl Harrell paced the Wizards with a 24-point, 18-rebound double-double. Bradley Beal delivered 18 points, nine assists, seven rebounds, one steal and one block. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope managed 17 points, three rebounds, one assist and four steals. Kyle Kuzma generated an 11-point, 13-rebound double-double that included five assists and one block.

The Hornets remain on the road and face the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night, while the Wizards hit the road and visit the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday night as well.
