Hawks and Grizzlies Tangle in Interconference Battle
The Atlanta Hawks take on the Memphis Grizzlies at FedEx Forum on Friday night.

The Hawks (10-9) have had a rollercoaster season thus far, and they've followed up a recent six-game losing streak with six consecutive wins. Their most recent success unfolded Wednesday night, when they toppled the San Antonio Spurs by a 124-106 score. Trae Young led the way with 31 points, adding 11 assists, seven rebounds and two steals. Bogdan Bogdanovic furnished 18 points, five rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal. John Collins delivered 15 points and five rebounds. Cam Reddish and Lou Williams had matching 12-point tallies off the bench, while Clint Capela generated an 11-point, 13-rebound double-double that included five steals.

The Hawks will list Young (ankle) as probable for Friday's game, while Bogdanovic (hamstring) will carry a questionable tag.

The Grizzlies (9-9) have had an up and down trajectory thus far this season, and they'll check into Friday's contest with a 3-2 mark over their last five games. Their most recent stumble occurred Wednesday night, when they fell to the Toronto Raptors by a 126-113 score. Ja Morant led the Grizzlies with 23 points, supplementing them with nine assists, six rebounds and three steals. Dillon Brooks and Desmond Bane produced matching 20-point tallies. Jaren Jackson and Brandon Clarke contributed 16 points apiece, with Clarke also pulling down eight rebounds.

The Grizzlies will list De'Anthony Melton (groin) as questionable for Friday's contest, while Sam Merrill (ankle) will remain out.

Friday's game marks the first of two meetings between the teams this season. The two teams split the two-game 2020-21 season series.
