Grizzlies Host Raptors on Wednesday
The Memphis Grizzlies play host to the Toronto Raptors at FedEx Forum on Wednesday.

The Raptors (8-10) have just two wins in their last nine games, grabbing those victories over struggling teams like the Philadelphia 76ers and Sacramento Kings. Those two have been some of the most dysfunctional franchises in the NBA this year, and it's really telling that those were the only teams Toronto could beat over the last three weeks. The guy they're really missing is Kyle Lowry, with Toronto sitting 28th in assists. Having a ball-handler like that is one of the most underrated assets in the NBA, and he recently said that he wants to sign a one-day contract with this club when his retirement actually comes. They need to look past that, though, and it's up to guys like Fred VanVleet and Pascal Siakam to carry the load now.

The Grizzlies (9-8) have been struggling a bit recently, but a road win against the Utah Jazz on Monday is a great sign in the future. They actually trailed by six points with 70 seconds left in that game but finished on a 7-0 run to prevail. That's quite the finish from this young team, especially against one of the best teams in the NBA. Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson both played fantastic in that game, but Desmond Bane was the surprise of the show. He dropped a career-high 28 points in that victory and has been a pivotal piece with Dillon Brooks and De'Anthony Melton in and out of the lineup. That young depth got this team into the postseason last year, and they just continue to look better every year.

These teams split their two-game season series last year, with the road team winning both outings. That gives Toronto 12 wins in their last 15 meetings with Memphis, dating back to 2013.
