2024 Projections
Tackling struggles in 2023
Woolen posted 53 tackles (42 solo), 11 pass breakups and two interceptions across 16 games during the 2023 regular season.
ANALYSIS
After posting 16 pass breakups and six interceptions, including a pick-six, during his rookie campaign, Woolen took a step back in both categories as a second-year corner. Woolen's tackling was an issue this season that will need to be addressed in 2024 under a new coaching regime, but the UTSA product has flashed enough upside the past two seasons to make him a strong favorite to start next year.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Possibly benched for good?
Coach Pete Carroll said "we'll see" when asked Wednesday whether Woolen and Mike Jackson will continue to compete for the starting right cornerback spot, per Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic, indicating that Woolen has permanently lost the spot to Jackson.
ANALYSIS
After a promising rookie season that had optimistic Seattle fans comparing him to Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner, Woolen has looked more like a fifth-round pick in his second NFL season. Carroll finally ran out of patience with Woolen's struggles in Week 15, giving Jackson his first start of the season at Woolen's expense. Jackson played 72 percent of defensive snaps to Woolen's 28 percent in the 20-17 win over the Eagles, and Woolen may remain relegated to a reserve role against the Titans in Week 16.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
The Seahawks selected Woolen in the fifth round last year, and he was their second cornerback taken in the draft. However, his athleticism shined as he won a starting job and thrust himself into the Defensive Rookie of the Year conversation with 63 tackles, 16 pass breakups and six interceptions through 17 starts. The Seahawks drafted CB Devon Witherspoon fifth overall this year, but Woolen's starting spot on the other side still is secure for 2023.
