2024 Projections
The Buccaneers have hired Quarles as a pro scout in their personnel department.
ANALYSIS
The Bucs released Quarles in April after he failed an offseason physical, and Quarles has evidently now officially retired. He was always thought to be too small to play middle linebacker in the NFL, but the Pro Bowler ended his 10-year career with 985 tackles (third-most in franchise history), 13 sacks and four interceptions.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2006
2005
2004
2003
Quarles finally took the big step. He converted from strong side to the middle for Tampa Bay’s Super Bowl run in 2002 and since then has hovered right at the edge of fantasy relevance. He’s not reliable to make more than two or three combined picks and sacks, so his slightly below average tackle numbers had left him on the outside looking in. Until 2005, that is. Along came Chris Hovan to play tackle alongside Anthony McFarland, and Quarles shot up to 99 solos despite a previous career high of 74. The loss of Warren Sapp and some injury troubles clearly hurt Quarles before, but he’s in position to excel again. He’s as fundamental as they come, not taking bad chances and wrapping up well. A small guy, he really does need those big tackles in front of him. He’s got the same set-up for success heading into 2006.
