Spurs Defeat Wizards, 116-99
The San Antonio Spurs defeated the visiting Washington Wizards, 116-99, at AT&T Center on Monday.

While there were seven ties and 13 lead changes in the first half, San Antonio rode a 39-27 third quarter to their victory. In fact, they closed out that half with a 32-21 fourth quarter, capping off a 71-48 second half. The Spurs shot 53 percent from the field and 44 percent from three-point range, while holding the Wizards to 45 percent from the field and 29 percent from long range. San Antonio also out-rebounded Washington, 51-40, while outscoring them in the paint, 72-56. They also outscored the Wizards in fastbreak points, 17-0.

The Wizards (13-8) were led by Bradley Beal and his 18 points, two rebounds and eight assists. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope amassed 17 points and three assists. Spencer Dinwiddie had 16 points and six rebounds, while Daniel Gafford generated 11 points, 10 rebounds and three assists. Montrezl Harrell led the bench with six points, five rebounds and six assists.

The Spurs (6-13) were led by Derrick White, tallying 24 points, five rebounds and five assists. Dejounte Murray collected 22 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists. Jakob Poeltl totaled 14 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks, while Keldon Johnson compiled 13 points, five rebounds and two assists. Thaddeus Young and Bryn Forbes led the bench with 10 points and two assists apiece.

On deck for Washington is a home matchup with the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday. As for San Antonio, they return to action on Thursday in a road matchup with the Portland Trail Blazers.
