Recent RotoWire Articles Featuring Calen Addison See More
This week's set of pickup recommendations includes a trio of forwards who are slightly underperforming but still plenty useful, including Chandler Stephenson.
Adam Larsson's heavy workload and recent uptick in production makes him the top-recommended defenseman this week.
Latest Fantasy Rumors
Might play big role
Addison, who was acquired by San Jose from Minnesota on Wednesday, might start his tenure with the Sharks on the top pairing and first power-play unit during Thursday's game versus Edmonton, per Joe Smith of The Athletic.
ANALYSIS
Addison had five assists in 12 contests with the Wild while averaging 16:48 of ice time before the trade. It sounds like San Jose is looking for the 23-year-old to play a significantly bigger role, which might lead to Addison seeing his offensive production increase substantially. He showed promise in 2022-23, collecting three goals and 29 points in 62 contests with Minnesota despite averaging a modest 16:07 of ice time.

2020 Fantasy Outlook
Addison has yet to make his NHL debut, but he was a part of the return for the Wild when they traded Jason Zucker to the Penguins in February. The 20-year-old Addison has shown a solid scoring touch with WHL Lethbridge, where he finished with 10 goals and 52 points in 50 contests last year. In 2020-21, Addison is likely to transition to professional hockey full time, but the second-round pick from 2018 will probably need a year or two with AHL Iowa to work on his defensive game before he can make an impact with the parent club. His scoring touch is legit, so dynasty managers should hang onto Addison for a while longer, but he's safe to skip over in redraft formats.
