Ben Finley

After N.C. state acquired Brennan Armstrong from Virginia, the writing was on the wall for Finley, who promptly entered the transfer portal and landed at Cal. Unfortunately for Finley, the starting job is far from certain. TCJ transfer Sam Jackson is also in the fold, commencing a quarterback competition that will last throughout fall camp. The skill sets of the two quarterbacks couldn’t be more different, as Finley is more of a conventional drop-back passer. Jackson is an undersized dual-threat speedster, and accommodating both quarterbacks would certainly stretch Cal’s offensive playbook.
