Duffy has been the first quarterback on the field for the Aztecs all spring, and that continued into the spring game, per Kirk Kenny of the San Diego Union-Tribune.
ANALYSIS
Duffy transferred in from Florida State, where he only attempted two passes in two seasons in Tallahassee. There's plenty of competition in this quarterback battle, but Duffy looks as if he's currently leading the race. It's worth noting that head coach Sean Lewis said he won't name a starter until after preseason workouts commence in August. Still, Duffy has had a promising spring and at this point, the starting gig looks like his to lose. In the spring game, Duffy carved up the defense, tossing for 122 yards and two scores on 7-of-11 passing.
