Timberwolves Upend Heat, 113-101
The Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Miami Heat, 113-101, at Target Center on Wednesday night.

The Timberwolves (9-9) came in as very narrow underdogs and riding a four-game winning streak, and they opened the contest with solid play. Minnesota held a 30-27 lead through one quarter, but the Heat's (12-7) second-quarter resurgence gave Miami an eight-point lead at intermission. Nevertheless, Chris Finch's club remained undeterred in its quest for .500, outscoring the visitors by a 59-39 margin over the final two quarters for the relatively comfortable victory. The T-Wolves owned a substantial 52-40 rebounding advantage and forced an uncharacteristic 21 turnovers from the Heat.

Bam Adebayo led the Heat with 18 points, supplementing them with five rebounds, three assists and one steal. Duncan Robinson supplied 17 points, five boards, three assists and one steal. Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro generated matching 16-point tallies while pulling down eight and seven rebounds, respectively. Gabe Vincent delivered 14 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Anthony Edwards paced the Timberwolves with 33 points, complementing them with 14 rebounds, six assists, three steals and one block. Malik Beasley turned in 29 points, three rebounds, one steal and one block. D'Angelo Russell supplied 20 points, six assists, three rebounds, two blocks and one steal. Karl-Anthony Towns posted 11 points, six boards, four assists and two blocks. Jarred Vanderbilt mustered a modest eight points but added 15 rebounds, four steals and three assists.

The Heat remains on the road and visits the Chicago Bulls on Saturday night, while the Timberwolves visit the Charlotte Hornets on Friday night.
