Vettori is scheduled to compete against Brendan Allen in a middleweight fight at UFC Vegas 89 on April 6, per the promotion's announcement Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
The UFC's first new fight announcement in 2024 will be one in which Vettori will try to bounce back from a decisive decision loss against 39-year-old Jared Cannonier. Allen is on a six-fight winning streak and trying to establish himself as a top-five contender in the promotion's middleweight division.
Heart on display in crushing defeat

Vettori lost to Jared Cannonier via unanimous decision (45-49, 45-49, 46-48) at UFC on ESPN 47 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It was an epic display of toughness from Vettori in what was an otherwise extremely disappointing performance. Marvin managed to wobble Cannonnier just moments after the opening bell rang. Little did we know at the time it would be his only significant chance of emerging victorious. Vettori was blasted the duration of Round 2, nearly getting stopped on multiple occasions. He appeared either hurt and/or injured the rest of the way. His typical legendary output dropped considerably, and he found himself essentially serving as a punching bag the final four rounds. Vettori won't turn 30 years of age until September, but he is now 2-3 in his past five fights dating back to June 2021. Granted, those three defeats came against Israel Adesanya, Robert Whittaker, and Cannonier, three of the best in the world at 185 pounds. While he may be at a career crossroads, Vettori will at least take home an extra $50,000 after this matchup was awarded Fight of the Night honors.

Vettori will headline against Jared Cannonier at the June 17 UFC event in Las Vegas, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Vettori will re-enter the Octagon just three months after he defeated Roman Dolidze in London. The 28-year-old will look to make it back-to-back victories and put his name back in discussion for a potential rematch with Israel Adesanya for the Middleweight title.

Vettori defeated Roman Dolidze via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27) at UFC 286 on Saturday in London.
ANALYSIS
Anything from 30-27 Dolidze to 29-28 Vettori would have been an acceptable scorecard. In short, Marvin was a bit lucky two judges scored the fight for him, let alone all three. Roman led the dance virtually the entire way, with Vettori sitting back and countering. It resulted in a 106-71 edge in total strikes landed for the Italian, but it was Dolidze that consistently landed the bigger shots. We've seen Vettori wrestle plenty in the past, but he completely shelved that part of his game in this one, not attempting a single takedown. Marvin improves to 7-3 in his past ten fights, with the three setbacks coming at the hands of Israel Adesanya (twice) and Robert Whittaker. Vettori is a legitimate top-five middleweight.

Vettori is expected to take on Roman Dolidze at UFC 286 in London on March 18, Brett Okamoto of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
This will be a matchup of two of the top-eight contenders in the UFC Middleweight division. Vettori holds a 8-4-1 record in 13 career fights with the promotion. He will be looking to bounce back following a Sept. 3 bout in which he fell to Robert Whittaker by unanimous decision.
