Drops decision following layoff
FlyweightUFC
October 30, 2021
Nascimento lost to Tagir Ulanbekov via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 28-29) at UFC 267 on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
ANALYSIS
This decision was the correct one, but Nascimento looked pretty good considering he hadn't fought in more than three years and entered as a +320 underdog. The Brazilian more than held his own on the feet, which is a tad surprising considering 13 of his 18 career victories are via submission. His ultimate undoing was dreadful takedown defense, as Nascimento allowed Ulanbekov to land four of five attempts. Nascimento turned just 30 years of age this past September, so he has plenty of runway ahead of him despite the long layoff.

Nascimento (17-5-0) is scheduled to face Tagir Ulanbekov (12-1-0) in a flyweight fight at UFC 267 on Oct. 30, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
The 29-year-old Nascimento will make his return to the Octagon for the first time in more than three years, as his last fight came back on Aug. 11, 2018, when he lost to Raulian Paiva during Dana White's Contender Series. Meanwhile, Ulanbekov will put a four-fight winning streak at stake in what marks his first bout since October 2020.
