Pickett lost to Josh Fremd via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC on ESPN 51 on Saturday in Las Vegas.

It's an admittedly extremely low bar, but this was Pickett's best performance in quite a while, and it came against an opponent that missed weight by three pounds Friday morning. Perhaps unsure he would get another opportunity with the company, Pickett took a chunk of Fremd's fight purse and went ahead with the bout. He landed a pair of takedowns and racked up some control time, but was unable to keep Fremd pinned to the mat long enough to do any real damage. A loser of four in a row including three via stoppage, Pickett's time with the UFC has likely come to a close.

It will be interesting to see if the UFC grants Pickett another opportunity. It would appear to be far from a guarantee.
