Takes place of brother
Tafa will now take on Karl Williams in a heavyweight matchup at UFC Vegas 89 on March 23, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Tafa was forced to withdraw from a UFC 298 fight against Marcos Rogerio de Lima, but his brother Junior stepped in to take his place on short notice. Junior happened to have an upcoming fight scheduled against Williams, so now Justin will take his place in what's basically an opponent swap. Tafa will have the edge in both experience and volume striking, but Williams is a far better wrestler, and is also 2-0 against lesser UFC heavyweights.

Off UFC 298 due to injury
Tafa has withdrawn from his scheduled UFC 298 fight against Marcos Rogerio de Lima due to injury, Nolan King of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
It's unclear what specific issue forced Tafa's withdrawal, but the two heavyweights will no longer throw down on the prelims. The UFC could choose to look for another opponent for Rogerio de Lima at a future date or re-book these two down the road.

Quickly dispatches Austen Lane
Tafa defeated Austen Lane via TKO (punches) at 1:22 of Round 1 at UFC 293 on Saturday in Sydney, Australia.
ANALYSIS
Tafa's cardio is poor, his footwork is non existent and he's a well below-average athlete in a traditional sense, but the finishing power in his hands is elite, as Lane found out here in his first UFC bout. Justin seemingly had nothing going early on before one massive left hand went crashing into Lane's jaw and sent into motion the sequence of events that ended the fight. Tafa simply doesn't possess the all-around game to defeat better competition, but he's done a nice job of late. The "Bad Man" has won three of his last four on the heels of losing three of his first four with the company. This latest win would also go on to earn him a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus.

Lane fight rescheduled
Tafa will take on Austen Lane in a heavyweight fight at a UFC event on September 9, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
After their previous bout was a deemed a no contest, Tafa and Lane will get another chance to fight. Tafa suffered a poke in the eye which ultimately led to the fights stoppage. Lane stands six-inches taller than Tafa while also sporting a six-inch reach advantage.
