Crushes Cooper in Super FIght
WelterweightBellator
April 16, 2024
Jackson defeated Ray Cooper via TKO (leg kick and punches) at 2:03 of Round 2 at the PFL vs. Bellator Champs Event in Saudi Arabia in February.
ANALYSIS
In a sense, this was Jackson's first title defense after upsetting Yaroslav Amosov in November, and the Jamacian fighter couldn't have looked better, lighting Cooper on fire with calf kicks until a particularly hard one in the second frame took him off his feet. Cooper just covered up from here, as it was clear he was in no shape to continue. Jackson's length, athleticism, and accuracy have always been sharp tools, but the long-time MMA veteran has been working on his wrestling as well, as he effortlessly stuffed a takedown while getting one of his own before putting his opponent away. Though this was a catchweight bout, the win technically made Jackson the Welterweight Super Fight champion, a moniker that will be the least of his accolades if he continues to sure up the holes in his game. Jackson moved to 18-4 as a result of the victory.

New Bellator Welterweight Champion
WelterweightBellator
November 20, 2023
Jackson became the new Bellator Welterweight Champion at Bellator 301 on Friday in Chicago, defeating Yaroslav Amosov via TKO (punches) at 2:08 of Round 3.
ANALYSIS
This was a massive upset in one of the promotion's final traditional cards, as Jackson entered this as roughly a (+320) betting underdog against one of the top pound-for-pound fighters on the roster. Nobody told Jackson that, however. Jackson stuffed every serious takedown attempt from the challenger, and was coming away with the cleaner, harder shorts in the striking exchanges. In fact, two of the judges gave Jackson Round 1, and all three gave him Round 2, so the Round 3 finish was far from a fluke. With Monday's announcement that Bellator will officially be acquired by the PFL, Jackson's future is now a bit uncertain. He'll definitely gain some popularity with this victory, and should the promotion choose to put him in its welterweight playoffs, or simple include him in a champion vs. champion card, Jackson's opportunities are far more lucrative than they were a week ago.
Taking on Gracie in April
WelterweightBellator
February 27, 2021
Jackson will take on Neiman Gracie in a welterweight bout at Bellator 255 on April 2, Alexander K. Lee of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson has enjoyed success lately, beating Ben Henderson, Jordan Mein and Kiichi Kunimoto all in unanimous decisions in 2020. His opponent in Gracie has found recent success as well, as he's coming off a win over Jon Fitch last December. The two will duke it out at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.
Bounces back from Contender Series loss with victory in Bellator debut
WelterweightBellator
August 17, 2018
Jackson defeated Jordon Larson via TKO (elbows) at 3:52 of Round 1 at Bellator 204 on Friday in Sioux Falls, S.D.
ANALYSIS
From the start of this fight, it looked like only a matter of time until Jackson scored the knockout. He measured his opponent for most of the round, before landing a hard overhand right that floored Larson and finished the fight. With the win, he improves to 8-3 as a professional. Last year, he competed on the first season of Dana White's Contender Series and lost via injury.
