ANALYSIS
Fremd withdrew from his scheduled fight against Almeida. However, the latter will not sit out the UFC's April 6 event, as the promotion has replaced Fremd with Dylan Budka. It is unclear why Fremd is out for the April 6 event and how long he will be unavailable.

January 19, 2024
Fremd agreed to fight Cesar Almeida in a middleweight bout at UFC's April 6 event, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Fremd won two straight fights before falling to Roman Kopylov in September and will attempt to get back in the win column this spring. Almeida will be making his UFC debut, which was originally slated to come in November against Christian Leroy Duncan.

Fremd lost to Roman Kopylov via TKO (strikes) at 4:44 of Round 2 at Noche UFC on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Fremd, a +260 underdog, was fine for about three minutes. After that, the roof came crashing down. Josh had no chance if this turned into a kickboxing match, and that ended up being exactly the case. He failed on all five of his takedown attempts, leaving an opening for Kopylov, who hits like a truck, to land repeated power shots. One massive punch to the liver late in Round 2 shut Fremd's insides down and ended the bout in an instant. The 29-year-old Pennsylvania native drops to 2-3 in his first five UFC bouts. It's also worth mentioning he missed weight for one of those victories.

Fremd will face Roman Kopylov in a middleweight bout at UFC Noche on Sep. 16, Alexander K. Lee of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Fremd jumps to the UFC Noche card as a replacement for Anthony Hernandez, who has been ruled out of the fight after suffering a torn ligament as a sparring earlier this month. Fremd had his most recent fight earlier this month when he defeated Jamie Pickett at UFC on ESPN 51 on Aug. 12.

Fremd defeated Jamie Pickett via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC on ESPN 51 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It was a solid, if unspectacular performance from Fremd as a -350 favorite, and one that is largely negated by the fact he missed weight by three pounds Friday morning. Pickett agreed to take a portion of Fremd's purse and go ahead with the bout, and the latter ended up sweeping the judges scorecards on the strength of 7:15 worth of control time. Neither man accomplished much on the feet, with Fremd closing with a 59-26 edge in total strikes landed. The 29-year-old Pennsylvania native has won back-to-back fights after dropping his first two with the UFC.
Bout uncertain after weight miss

Fremd weighed in three pounds over the middleweight limit on Friday, placing his bout against Jamie Pickett at UFC Vegas 78 in jeopardy, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It's an all-around bad look for Fremd, who not only misses weight as a sizable favorite (+350), but didn't make his attempt on the scale until there were 10 minutes left in the two-hour window. Luckily for him, his opponent is not in a position to turn down fights, as Pickett currently holds a 2-5 record in the UFC. Fremd will be fined at least 20 percent of his purse if this fight continues as scheduled.
