Heat Defeat Celtics in Game 1, 118-107
The Miami Heat defeated the visiting Boston Celtics, 118-107, in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals at American Airlines Arena on Tuesday.

Miami leads this best-of-seven series, 1-0. Game 2 will be in Miami on Thursday.

While Boston led for all but one minute in the first half, Miami started the third quarter on a 22-2 run to take control of this game. They held Boston to 2-of-15 from the field in that third quarter, outscoring them in total, 39-14. They led by at least seven points for the final 15 minutes of this game, Miami shot 49 percent from the field and 88 percent from the free-throw line while holding Boston to 46 percent from the field and 75 percent from the charity stripe. The Heat also recorded 10 steals and 12 blocks, while winning the turnover battle, 16-12.

The Celtics (0-1) were led by Jayson Tatum, tallying 29 points, eight rebounds, six assists and four steals. Jaylen Brown totaled 24 points, 10 rebounds and three assists. Robert Williams amassed 18 points, nine rebounds and two blocks, while Payton Pritchard led the bench with 18 points, five rebounds and four assists.

The Heat (1-0) were led by Jimmy Butler and his 41 points, nine rebounds, five assists, four steals and three blocks on 12-of-19 from the field. Gabe Vincent generated 17 points, two rebounds, three assists and three blocks. Max Strus had 11 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals, while Tyler Herro led the bench with 18 points, eight rebounds and three assists.
