Bucks Grab Series Lead Against Celtics
The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Boston Celtics, 110-107, at TD Garden on Wednesday in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals in the 2022 NBA Playoffs. The Bucks are now leading the series 3-2.

The Bucks and the Celtics have delivered a series for the ages and Game 5 wasn’t any different, as the game was only decided in the final seconds of the contest. Milwaukee grabbed the lead in the first quarter by a slim two-point margin, but the Celtics responded quickly and took control of the game the rest of the way. Boston won both the second (28-19) and third (32-30) quarters, meaning they held a nine-point advantage with only 12 minutes left on the clock. However, the Bucks were able to turn things around in the final minutes and put the pedal to the metal down the stretch after outscoring Boston by a 15-8 score in the final six minutes of the game, and that, coupled with the stellar defense of Jrue Holiday in the final plays, allowed Milwaukee to earn the way. With the victory, the Bucks recovered home-field advantage and could close things out when the series shifts to Milwaukee for Game 6 on Friday.

Giannis Antetokounmpo was magnificent for the Bucks and carried the team when they needed it the most, as he finished with 40 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block. Jrue Holiday was stellar on defense but also provided scoring with 24 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. Bobby Portis finished with a double-double off the bench after pouring 14 points and 15 rebounds, and Pat Connaughton also had 13 points off the bench. No other Milwaukee player scored in double digits.

Jayson Tatum surpassed the 30-point once again and led the Celtics with 34 points, six rebounds and four assists, while Jaylen Brown posted 26 points, eight rebounds, six assists and a block. Marcus Smart ended with 15 points, four rebounds and two steals. Daniel Theis contributed 11 points and a rebound.
