Maxime Talbot got both his wishes tonight -- he got to hoist the Cup and whisper "you picked the wrong team" while shaking Marian Hossa's hand.

Sucks to be Ty Conklin, eh?

Cristobal Huet channelled both the Amazing Kreskin and Rubberboy with that on-his-belly, mind-over-matter leg save on Marian Hossa in the dying seconds of the third. He saved the game... at least for a few moments.

Not that long ago, a shot off the backboards was considered a complete duffer. Now, it's good strategy. I have to tell my beer league buddies that -- we'd look mighty fine under those rules.

Beard comparison -- Eric Cole has more facial hair than Sidney Crosby, Marc-Andre Fleury and about half of the state of Pennsylvania. And those are the women.

When was the last time you saw a team captain touch -- let alone pick up -- the conference trophy? I was stunned. They usually treat that thing like it's contagious.

Ever notice how the cream always rises to the top? Jonathan Toews rebounded after a sub-par effort in Game 1. And he's only 20 years old. I'm telling you -- he's either channelling Steve Yzerman or Joe Sakic; take your pick. Either one carried his team like a sherpa.

Weird stat. The Red Wings have allowed a power-play goal in in a franchise-record 11 straight playoff games. It's the league's longest streak during a single post-season in a couple of decades. Something like this could catch up to them at a really bad time.

Is Teemu Selanne that fast or Chris Chelios that slow... or both? Combined age = 85.

You ever wonder if the twins ever play the old fool-the-girlfriend trick by pretending to be the other? Well, don't you think it's kind of funny that Henrik is now the sniper and Daniel is the set-up man?

Most Americans think the metric system used up here in Canada is whacked. I think that Ohio math is worse.

Chris Osgood isn't right. OK, so you're saying to me that he wasn't right before the game; I agree. He got worse. The Wings catch a break as he'll have more than a week to rest his clearly ailing nether-region. Watch the replays; you'll see what I mean.
