Maybe it's the fact that he's considered little more than a lefty specialist. But Mitch Stetter has gotten very little attention despite being on something of a crazy tear over his last five games.

In that stretch, he's faced 13 batters. One of them, Troy Tulowitzki, beat out an infield single to shortstop. Another, Victor Martinez, grounded back to the mound and reached on a fielder's choice.

Every week, I'll look at one batter, or pitcher, who's either a good buy-low or sell-high, using BABIP (Batting Average on Balls In Play) as a barometer. Our first victim: Jay Bruce.
In fact he gave up just 11 homers last year in 198.2 IP despite playing his home games in Coors Field where the ball carries and doesn't break as much. Dalton commented on the post (click the link and scroll down) that Jimenez's excellent home run rate was luck, because only 6.9 percent of his fly balls left the yard, third lowest rate in the majors.

Aaron Cook is an extreme ground ball pitcher (2.31 GB/FB), a big advantage in that park, Ubaldo Jimenez keeps it on the ground, too (1.88 GB/FB) and even Jason Marquis (1.26 in 2008, 1.54 in 2007) is above average in that department. Jorge De la Rosa was solid in the second half, and even he did a better job of keeping it on the ground last year (1.27).

But looking at his 2007 numbers - .320/.434/.494 - he was still a productive hitter, who could significantly help you in batting average. And while 17 home runs isn't ideal, in a deep mixed league, it's useful enough.
