2020 Fantasy Outlook
Geekie saw his first NHL action just before the 2019-20 regular season came to a premature end. In two games, he had three goals and an assist, but he managed just one assist in eight playoff appearances during the return to play in August. Geekie has shown well with AHL Charlotte, posting 41 goals and 47 helpers in 128 outings. He'll get a chance to earn a roster spot in training camp, and he could open the season as the Hurricanes' fourth-line center. The third-round pick from 2017 probably won't break the 20-point mark without moving up the lineup as the season progresses, so he's safe to avoid in redraft leagues. Dynasty managers will want to hang on for when the 22-year-old gets a chance to supplant Jordan Staal or Vincent Trocheck for a top-six job.
