Campbell finished 2023 with 56 tackles (32 solo), 6.5 sacks, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and one pass defense in 17 appearances.
ANALYSIS
After three years in Baltimore, Campbell signed a one-year deal with Atlanta to revamp a poor pass rush. Jessie Bates' presence also had a major impact on the Falcons' defensive turnaround, but Campbell's contributions shouldn't go unnoticed, as he notched his most sacks in a season since 2019. Given the strong pairing, it wouldn't be surprising to see the Falcons try to bring the veteran back for his age-38 season, though Campbell may have a list of suitors after a healthy 2023 campaign.

Key decisions looming
Campbell could consider retirement this offseason, Michael Rothstein of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Campbell entered the 2023 season in a projected part-time role with the Falcons, but he instead tallied 682 defensive snaps, his highest mark since 2019, and racked up 6.5 sacks. He'll now enter free agency, though it's also possible that he opts to retire as he heads into his age-37 season. If Campbell does want to play in 2024, it's unclear whether Atlanta would look to retain him with Raheem Morris taking over head coaching duties and bringing a new defensive scheme to the team.

Campbell, David Onyemata and Kaden Elliss were all signed this offseason to bolster Atlanta's pass rush, which was led by Grady Jarrett (six sacks) in 2022. At 36 years old, the 6-foot-8 veteran is the oldest defensive lineman in the league and will be operating on a one-year deal, but given his production last year, Campbell still has some juice in the tank and can be a solid contributor in Atlanta's improved defense. The 2008 second-round pick had 5.5 sacks and two forced fumbles across 14 games for the Ravens last year, his most since 2019 when he was with the Jaguars.
