2024 Fantasy Outlook
Seattle acquired Bliss in the four-player deal that shipped Paul Sewald to Arizona. The infielder scorched Double-A pitching to the tune of .358/.414/.594, and while he initially struggled in Triple-A, a hot finish allowed him to finish with an OPS of .822 in Tacoma over 226 plate appearances while finishing with 55 stolen bases for good measure. Despite a less-than-prototypical frame, Bliss has been able to tap into more power than expected when he was drafted with the 42nd pick in 2021, and he makes enough hard contact to all parts of the field to believe he can hit for a high average, as well. He isn't likely to make the Opening Day roster, but Bliss has a good chance of making his MLB debut in 2024, and there's certainly a chance for fantasy relevance in the coming seasons. The Mariners selected Bliss's contract from Triple-A Tacoma on Monday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
ANALYSIS
The 24-year-old infielder receives his first major-league promotion after putting up a .247/.382/.445 batting line with seven home runs and 28 stolen bases this season with Tacoma. The right-handed hitting Bliss plays both middle infield spots and could get some starts at second base versus lefties due to Jorge Polanco (hamstring) going down.
