Good start for possible Survivor chaos, with the Giants falling behind right away.

Dolphins' pass rush getting to Andy Dalton. He nearly threw an arm punt on third down.

It appears to me that the Bengals got a gift on the fumble recovery replay.

Hey, Jamaal Charles just busted a 25-yard run. Better run Shaun Draughn three plays in a row to make sure we can preserve the punt!

Don't be surprised if Alfred Morris starts losing more snaps - awful job of blitz pickup on the RG3 sack.

Major breakdown by the Giants on the Weeden-to-Gordon TD. Absolutely no pressure on Weeden and then a linebacker covering Gordon.

As an Eli owner, I'm happy to see the Giants ball behind big.

I love how the Chiefs are the masters of killing their own momentum by taking Charles out after a few key runs.

On: 10/7/2012 10:29:00 AM
Thorn - yep, the Giants' defense has been Eli's fantasy owners' best friend this year.

Bernard Scott sighting - looked good breaking tackles.

Love, Love, Love the Bengals going for it on 4th-and-2 at the MIA 35 and then passing.

Jamaal Charles is always sucking wind and takes himself out, he needs to get in better game shape.

Ced Benson's owners have to love John Kuhn.

Reuben Randle doing work - four catches already.

FWIW, Benson had an 18-yard reception on the play immediately before Kuhn's touchdown.

JE - No injury to BJGE, right? Scott getting more carries now back in the fold.

Can't blame that pick on Cassel Jeff. But he's among the worst QBs in the league.

On: 10/7/2012 10:47:00 AM
Yeah, no injury to Law Firm. Scott just running better. Though I think Scott just got banged up again.

Does Desean Jackson ever just run his route and not look to the refs for a flag?

By: Jason Thornbury
On: 10/7/2012 10:53:00 AM
Bruce Arians apparently not aware that not only can't you challenge a scoring play, but if you do throw the red flag, it's a 15-yard penalty. I still think teams should hire one guy whose sole job is to deal with challenges/time management.

By: Jason Thornbury
On: 10/7/2012 10:55:00 AM
What's worse, is throwing the challenge flag in that instance stops the booth review. Arians screwed his team two ways.

Hah, that's a classic coaching DERP.

Jamaal Charles 118 yards rushing already

Big fantasy moment - Mendenhall's TD ruled a lateral, and hence a run. No TD pass for Big Ben.

By: Erickson

And speaking of that, Mendenhall looking pretty good so far.

Chiefs take a delay of game on 3rd-and-1, after a spike, get 5 yards, #PuntToWin from the Ravens' 43. Ugh.

By: Erickson
On: 10/7/2012 11:53:00 AM
Yet another horrible sequence for the Chiefs - Cassel takes the QB sneak at the goal line and fumbles it away.

On: 10/7/2012 12:08:00 PM
The Browns were bold enough to go for it 4th-and-1 on their own 35, but then followed that with a punt on 4th-and-5. Giants subsequently drove and scored. Cleveland really can't punt the rest of the game, especially with D'Qwell Jackson hurt.

RG3 took a big hit and now is going to the locker room - possible concussion.

RG3 got crushed.

On: 10/7/2012 12:57:00 PM
Bad decision to settle for the field goal by the Bengals, down 4, on 4th-and-5, gets punished by the missed figgie by Nugent.

By: Erickson
On: 10/7/2012 1:19:00 PM
Shanahan referred to RG3's injury as a "mild concussion." Why bother having coaches deliver injury reports?

Makes me sick that I don't have Reggie Wayne anywhere.

Shane Vereen gets the one-yard touchdown run, because of course he does.

What happened to all those goal line passes from NE? Brady's value has taken a hit this year.

Greg Olsen looks open on every play, but Newton seems content with forcing the ball into double-covered Steve Smith on every single drop back.

On: 10/7/2012 3:30:00 PM
taborp - I suppose those Brady rushing touchdowns took care of that just fine for you.

On: 10/7/2012 4:09:00 PM
Cam Newton made one of the all-time worst throws on the would-be go-ahead TD. Had a receiver wide open, but just spiked it into the ground. Very odd. Maybe the ball slipped.

Cam played terribly today; zero pocket awareness, constantly staring down Smith (making the offense ridiculously easy to defend), and muffing simple throws.

By: Erickson
On: 10/7/2012 4:24:00 PM
He short-armed it - he was trying not to air-mail over the end zone and seemed to overcompensate. Brutal throw.

On: 10/7/2012 4:25:00 PM
Jim Nantz and Phil Simms killing me today: "They did not have to score a touchdown on that drive." (After McGahee's fumble.)

So ... point there is what? Kick on second down? You need a TD eventually.

By: Jason Thornbury
On: 10/7/2012 4:42:00 PM
Cam played poorly, but the Panthers' play calling is terrible too. 4th-and-goal from the 1, QB sneak with the best running quarterback in the league looks pretty good. Instead, they roll him out, giving the defense more time to make a play and asking Newton to throw into chaos in the end zone. And Ron Rivera ... you're allowed to unfold your arms, speak and show an expression.

The one rushing TD helps, but Brady isnt top 5 in fantasy right now. He is top 5 in real life, but he's getting out scored by lesser talents most weeks. I'm not sure it's going to change going forward with NE being content to run all over teams.

Interesting Spring Performances, Part One: The NL
As spring training ambles nonchalantly towards the finish line, it's always fun to take a look at spring stats to see who really jumps off the page and might be making some kind of statement or other...
My AL Tout Wars team
We did the AL Tout Wars draft Saturday morning, once again in "The Bubble" at the Sirius/XM studios. It was a different Tout experience than my usual drafts at Tout - lately I haven't paid for closers there, or spent much on my outfielders. But I'm also one to take the values where they fall. So to that end, here's my squad:
My NFBC Recap

My "Beat Peter Schoenke" Draft Results.

My entry in the RotoWire Fantasy Baseball Online Championship was Monday night. Here's my quick take on the draft - this is a 12-team mixed league, 5x5 categories, 30 rosters spots (23 active), with no trades in the league. It has a top prize of $50,000 and a league prize of $1,400.
