Any first reactions to the Thomas Robinson trade? I think the Kings continue to show their incompetence as a front office with this move. Opens up a lot of money for Houston and gives them the player with the highest ceiling.

Any Bucks fans out there? What do you want to happen today? Seems like a lot of your hopes/worries are centered on Josh Smith and J.J. Redick.

What's your favorite team, and what deal do you want them to make in real NBA? For fantasy, who do you want to see emerge so you can pick them up?

I don't understand why the Kings would trade Robinson in a deal like that last night. He had way more value, which is exactly why the Rockets made the deal. Even if Robinson doesn't live up to his pedigree, the Rockets will be sure to move him in a package sometime this summer.

I don't see Redick being deployed as the starting SG in MIL. One of the Bucks' weaknesses right now is backcourt defense. Redick will only reinforce that weakness. He's a badass option to have off the bench for 20-25 mpg, though.

Lots of information and misinformation out there. Supposedly Tyreke available and several etams in on him, especially NY and Boston, and now he isn't. If he is dealt, Sac on way to Atlanta now, could be an interesting flight.

Kyle - "If Josh Smith ends up in Atlanta, I'm dropping Thomas Robinson as quickly as I added him last night. Mo Harkless is a great add right now." What did you mean by this? Smith already is in ATL.

Shannon - No surprise that I spazzed out and typed in the wrong city. Meant Houston obivously.

Is Udrih worth owning with Jameer banged up, Reddick and Ish both shipped out of town???

Until we know what is going to happen with Jameer, Udrih is definitely worth taking a flier on.

Do Analytics Take the Fun Out of Sports?
Apparently that was the topic of one of the presentations at the Sloan Sports Analytics Conference in Boston last week. The presenter, Yale's Edward Tufte, opined:

Don't let people tell you analytics are reductionist and take the joy out of sports. They mostly just take the stupidity out of sports.

Is he right?

RotoWire's AL LABR Squad
The 2014 AL LABR auction went down at the Arizona Republic offices in downtown Phoenix Saturday night. It's a 12-team, 5 x 5, AL-only league with 2 C, 1 1B, 1 2B. 1 3B, 1 SS, 1 CI, 1 MI, 5 OF, 1 U and 9 pitchers. Everyone has $260 to spend.
The Problem With Drafting Billy Hamilton
Billy Hamilton went for $28 in the NL LABR auction this past weekend. I discussed this with a fellow writer who participates in Tout Wars with me later this month and we discussed the problem with investing heavily into Hamilton.

My 12-Team NFBC RotoWire Online Championship Team
I drafted out of the 11-hole for the "Beat Chris Liss" league. I had done a fair amount of research on optimal roster construction from that slot, and I decided I'd go hitter in the first round, three pitchers in 2-4 and then hitting for the next 10 rounds or so before filling in with upside pitchers late. Of course, few battle plans survive the actual war. Here are the results:
